Failure to comply may result in investigation and potential discipline including suspension and/or cancellation of the massage therapist's registration number with the Society.
In dealing with matters of "unprofessional conduct" on the part of an ARMTS member, the ARMTS uses the professional discipline protocols of the Alberta Health Professions Act.

Code of Ethics & Complaints

In the public interest ARMTS members are required to demonstrate, through their entry-to-practice and continuing competency, an over-riding commitment to the well-being and safety of their clients.
Adherence to a Code of Ethics is part of an ARMTS member's commitment to demonstrate their competence. "Competence" is defined as the combined knowledge, skills, attitudes and judgement required to provide professional services.

Should the need arise to report an instance of "unprofessional conduct," it must be made in writing using the form below and sent to the ARMTS office.
